Challenges we faced
An online B2B portal for building materials, it aims to bring exporters and importers together. Creating a B2B marketplace that could distinguish between organic and invited buyers was a challenge.The marketplace's functions were different based on buyer segregation, such that organic buyers could see the MRP & Selling price of the product and create orders independently. When a buyer is invited by a seller, they will click here be associated with the seller's agent. Tier-specific pricing will be displayed for the listed productsAs well as offering basic B2B features such as MOQs and partial payments, the marketplace must include payment options. As this is a B2B marketplace, there is a concept of additional delivery and pallet charges.
SOLUTIONS
In the construction industry, this solution was a replica of all existing import/export functions. Before we started developing the project, we needed to understand the import/export processes in the building materials industry. We designed our standard B2B marketplace solution with basic features like minimum order quantities and partial payments based on inputs from the client.Parallel to this, we have started developing add-on features for buyer classifications and agent registrations. To create tier-based prices for buyers, we created agent association rules.The buying process was another challenge because all the ad-hoc modules were arranged step-by-step with all the calculations.
